PROFESSIONAL
EXPERIENCE: |
At
age 15, joined the Manolo "Caracol" Theatrical
Dance Company, touring all of Spain. Performed in various
"tablaos flamenco" in Madrid as soloist and with
her own group.
Toured the Middle East with "El Guito" Spanish
Ballet.
Toured Europe twice and performed in Teheran, Israel, Hong
Kong, Singapore, Japan, Korea, and various American Armed
Forces bases, with Antonio Vargas' Spanish Ballet.
Made
her debut in the United States with the Carmen Mota -
Joaquin Robles Spanish Ballet at her Chateau Madrid in
New York City, appearing on the Ed Sullivan Show.
Toured
in Europe once again and while in Greece appeared in Cocyanis
film. Also appeared on the B.B.C. in London.
Made
a return engagement at the Chateau Madrid in New York City.
Performed at the Condado Beach Hotel in San Juan, Puerto Rico,
making many television appearances while there. Returned to
Spain and toured every major city with Marife de Triana
Theatre Group.

RECENT
EXPERIENCE: |
Presently
residing permanently in Orlando, Florida, teaches Flamenco
and Spanish Classical Dances and choreographs. Has appeared
as soloist and with her own group at the Loch Haven Art Theatre,
the Winter Park Art Festival, the St. Augustine Festival,
Orlando Expo Centro's Hispanic Festival, the Hispanic Latin
Fiesta, the Mercado on International Drive, and at Valencia
Community College Performing Arts Theatre. Has performed at
Pepe's Tropical Restaurant, Medieval Times (in Kissimmee,
Florida and Los Angeles, California). Performed as soloist
in "Lorca, Beyond Words", a musical homage to the
famous Spanish poet Federico Garcia Lorca, at Valencia Community
College in October of 1993 and 1994, and a tribute to Cuban
poet José Marti in May, 1995. In June 1996, she starred
in "Zarzuelas y Más", a musical extravaganza
she organized and choreographed, at the Orlando Museum of
Art. Has performed extensively at conventions, special events
and private reunions.

OTHER
INTEREST: |
Before
arriving in Orlando, and after semi-retirement from performing,
she owned two restaurants in Madrid, "Tasca El Amanecer"
and "Tasca El Corral", which she successfully
ran for several years. As owner and general manager of both,
she personally supervised 15 employees and handled all areas
of the business, from the kitchen to accounting and administration.
In
Orlando, she was the founder of La Casa de España
(the House of Spain). Founder and current Director of
Herencia Española de las Artes (Hispanic Heritage
Foundation for the Arts), a non-profit organization for the
support and development of Hispanic artists. Member of the
former Orange County Sheriff's Department Commission on
Hispanic Affairs. Presently a member of the Hispanic
Civic Alliance. Director and producer of her own weekly
radio show La Otra España (The Other Spain)
since 1986.
Co-owner
of Tasca Tacon Spanish Cafe, Orlando, FL. Worked as chef in
cafe, as well as managed and directed a Spanish ballet for
the actual show performances.
2002 - Present: New Honorary Vice Consul of Spain in Orlando
